Call for Workshops
We are excited to announce that this year IEEE CASCON 2025 will host a series of workshops. CASCON is a premier academic and industrial conference for advanced studies in computer science and software engineering. The workshops will provide a forum to present, discuss, and debate issues, problems, ideas, technology gaps, work-in-progress, and/or directions. The format of a workshop may include position papers, expert panels and discussions. Workshops may be half-day or full-day.
Workshops can be structured around invited talks, panel discussions, and/or workshop paper presentations. The intent is to stir discussion and debate new ideas on emerging research areas, challenging problems, and industrial applications.
- For workshops structured around invited talks, the organizers are expected to identify and invite experts in the field.
- For workshops structured around workshop paper submissions, the organizers are expected to issue a call for papers which can be submitted through IEEE CASCON's EasyChair site.
Workshop proposals should include:
Proposals for workshops should be organized as a preliminary call for papers or call for participation, depending on the intended format of the workshop, with a maximum of two pages and contain the following information:
- Title of the workshop.
- A brief technical description of the workshop, specifying the workshop goals, the technical issues that it will address, and the relevance of the workshop to the main conference.
- The names, affiliations and email addresses of the proposed workshop organizing committee. We strongly encourage the organizing committee to consist of at least two people coming from multiple institutions knowledgeable about the technical issues to be addressed.
- Expected duration of the workshop (half or full day). Half-day workshops are expected to be assigned at least 2.5h, while full-day workshops are expected to be assigned at least five hours.
- Workshop format: panel discussion, invited speaker presentations, and paper submission-based.
- The workshop deadlines, both internal and external, aligned with the CASCON timeline.
- List of potential invited speakers, panelists, or disputants.
Please also provide the following information (not restricted to the two pages for the above proposal):
- For workshops that are in their second edition or later: information about previous offerings of the proposed workshop: when and where it has been offered in the past, names and affiliations of organizers, number of attendees.
- For new workshops, which would be in the first edition if accepted: the list of researchers/practitioners who would be likely to submit a paper to the workshop or are going to be invited to present.
NOTE
- The workshop proposals will be published in the proceedings after a peer review.
- The organisers of the accepted workshop based on invited talk and pabel discussions will have the opportunity to write a 2-page summary of the activities and findings after the workshop is completed. This document will be published in the proceedings after a peer review.
- Accepted workshop papers can be published in the proceedings and submitted for inclusion to IEEE Xplore. This will depend on the discretion of each workshop organizer. Papers must thus be in the same format as the conference proceedings and may not be more than 6 pages in length. All papers must be reviewed by an International Technical Program Committee with a minimum of 3 reviews per paper.
We will have an ongoing evaluation of the proposals after their submissions.
